Marcie Zlotnik, Chairman and Co-founder of StarTex Power, has more than nine years of experience in the energy industry. Effective September 1, 2010 Marcie stepped down as Chief Operating Officer and now directs her attention to the company’s legislative and regulatory affairs. In addition, she speaks frequently on corporate culture and its effect on employee enthusiasm and customer satisfaction.

Prior to co-founding StarTex in 2004, Marcie served as President and Director of Gexa Energy, a Retail Electric Provider she co-founded in 2001.

A recognized and respected leader in the industry, Marcie is the proud recipient of many professional and community awards including the 2008-2010 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist, the Texas Women’s Chamber of Commerce 1996 Texas Business Woman of the Year, and the1995 Houston Area Women's Center Volunteer of the Year. StarTex Power has received national and regional awards for its success such as its 2009 #1 ranking and 2010 #3 ranking in the JD Power Retail Electric Provider Customer Satisfaction Study in Texas, and its 2009 Inc. 500 ranking as the 30th fastest growing privately held company in the U.S. The company has also been recognized as a “Best Place to Work” by the Houston Business Journal for the past 3 years.

Marcie is president of the Gulf Coast Power Association and is the 2010 Electric Reliability Council of Texas Board Member representing the Independent Retailer segment after several years of serving on the Technical Advisory Committee. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Texas Energy Association for Marketers, a Texas non-profit group whose purpose is to promote deregulated policies and initiatives on behalf of its members.

Marcie graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

Robert Zlotnik, President, CEO, and Co-founder of StarTex Power, has over 25 years of diversified business experience, primarily in service-related industries. Robert is responsible for the overall direction of StarTex Power, its long-term strategic goals, corporate finance and investor relations.

Prior to co-founding StarTex Power, Robert held executive and senior management roles in finance and accounting with PACE Entertainment (Clear Channel). Lifeco Travel Services/American Express and Ernst and Young.

Robert has been a guest speaker before the Texas Legislator’s House Regulated Industries Committee, Gulf Coast Power Association, and the Deutsche Bank Private Equity Conference. In 2008, he was named an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist for the Gulf Coast region.

Robert has a BBA in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin. He was named the outstanding graduate business student in 1979. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. When Bob isn’t working, he is active in youth sports in the Houston area.

Allison Wall, COO of StarTex Power, has over 10 years of experience in Texas electricity, both prior to and after deregulation. Allison is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of StarTex Power.

Prior to joining StarTex Power, Allison held senior leadership positions for other retail energy providers in Texas, including vice president positions at Gexa Energy and Champion Energy Services. Allison has also served as an environmental and occupational health consultant to petrochemical, refining, manufacturing and shipping industries in the Gulf Coast region.

Allison has a BS in Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Toxicology from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY; an MS in Public Health from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an MBA in Finance and Information Systems from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.

Steve Madden, Senior Vice President of Wholesale Supply for StarTex Power, has more than 13 years of experience in the energy industry. At StarTex Power, he is responsible for all wholesale market activities, from load forecasting to scheduling and QSE operations.

Prior to joining StarTex Power, Steve was responsible for marketing, regulatory affairs, asset optimization and market development at Oxy Energy Ventures. While at Oxy, Steve also managed a portfolio of assets that included significant industrial load and generation resources across various NERC regions, including ERCOT, PJM and New York.

Steve graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors from Florida State University with a Chemical Engineering degree.

John Edgar, Senior Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer for StarTex Power, has over 20 years in the energy business in a broad range of financial and managerial roles. Prior to joining StarTex Power, John spent five years in the deregulated retail energy industry.

John is a Certified Management Accountant and a graduate of Louisiana State University where he received a BS in Finance. John also has a MBA from the University of St. Thomas. In his spare time, John enjoys playing golf.

Francisco Segura, Senior Vice President of Operations for StarTex Power, has more than 16 years of experience in the service industry and has expertise in implementing operational efficiencies, improving productivity, as well as the development and retention of talented employees with the focus on operational excellence. At StarTex Power, he is responsible for the daily operations that include customer support, billing and related business processes/applications.

Prior to joining StarTex Power, Francisco held management positions for other retail energy providers in Texas and brings seven years of deregulated industry experience to the company. Prior to his stint in the energy industry, he served as Director of Operations at TeleCheck Services for 10 years.

Francisco earned a BA from Massey Business School in Houston. When Francisco isn’t working, he enjoys supporting Houston-area community organizations.
